If you’re interested in a smartphone on Verizon that still has a physical keyboard, your options are currently limited to the Droid 4, a couple of low-end Android devices, or a BlackBerry. Verizon’s diversifying that option a little bit with the Pantech Marauder – an Android-powered QWERTY device with fairly respectable specs for an entry level device. Chinese mobile site ePrice has leaked photos of a new Sony phone called the Xperia LT29i, apparently the international version of the Xperia GX that’s set to be released in Japan this August. The LT29i shown here comes with the same curved profile as the GX, NFC, and a customized version of Android 4.0, including floating widgets. NTT Docomo is announcing release dates for its pair of summer Sony LTE phones: the 4.6-inch Xperia GX will be coming out on August 9th, while the 3.7-inch Xperia SX won’t be in stores until a day later on the 10th. Sasmung’s Galaxy Beam, one of the company’s most unique handesets, is now available in the UK, albeit a little later than pre-orders had originally suggested. Previously shown off at Mobile World Congress, the Galaxy Beam is equipped with a 15-lumen projector that can be used to display HD images and video up to 50 feet wide.
